Part 3 - Corrour Bothy to Aviemore

Day 5: Corrour Bothy to Aviemore. 14 miles/23km.

Return to the main path from the bothy and head north into the Lairig Ghru. The path rises to reach the Pools of Dee near the highest point. The track then descends below Cairn Lochan to reach the forest of Rothiemurchus. At the edge of the plantation, stay with the main path and, at a crossroads three kilometres further on, turn left to reach the Cairngorm Club Footbridge. At a junction a short way beyond this, turn left and the path reaches a crossroads a kilometre on. Go straight on here and the path continues to Loch an Eilein, joining the loch’s circuit route. Turn right here and the way leads to a small visitor centre with public toilets and, a short way on, a car park. Follow the minor road to Inverdruie and the B970 leads into Aviemore.
